Fold a thousand paper cranes

A quiet puzzle of paper cranes. Tap one and it flies. Clear the sheet and the cranes join your string. No lives, no timers, free undo.

Fold

Tap a crane and it flies the way it faces, until another crane stops it or it leaves over the edge into the sky. Clear the sheet, and its cranes fold onto your string, a hanging senbazuru on the wall of a quiet room.

No lives, no timers, free undo, and every board is fair. Along the way the paper learns new things: long cranes, sleeping cranes, stones, wind, lanterns, coloured threads, night boards lit by lamp, and shaped sheets that end in a golden crane.

Send

Send a crane to someone who needs one. Choose a washi paper and an occasion (get well, good luck, an exam, a birthday, thanks), then write a line by hand. It arrives as a link that opens on any phone, no app needed, and replying is always free.

Each day

Each day brings one daily fold, folded from that day's own paper and shared as a printed card with a single question: how many moves did you need? At a thousand cranes you write a wish, the window opens, and the string is let go.

Every sheet is free, for everyone, and the folding never ends. If you want more, String Pass or Tsuru Plus (one purchase, no subscription) adds unlimited hints, par before you start, seasonal washi and five sends a day.
